We give discount credit in exchange for book donations, which can be put towards a 50% discount on used book purchases, and 10% off new books. If you’ve donated to us in the past, it’s the same system, and we’re honoring all credit accrued under the Couth’s previous ownership.

Please bring in donations on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the day - otherwise, our music events might be a little too lively for us to give your gifts the attention they’re due. We also ask that you bring in no more than two boxes at a time.

We may ask you to take some books back with you if they’re at all damaged, or if we’re just full up on that genre.

We particularly appreciate:

• Horror, Sci-Fi, and Fantasy

• Recent literary fiction (last five years or so)

• Classics

• Philosophy

• Children’s books (ideally only lightly chewed)

• Tabletop RPG books

• Queer Lit/Theory

We’re a bit full up on:

• Biography/memoir

• US History

• Religion/Spirituality

• Thrillers

We don’t take:

• Textbooks, encyclopedias, dictionaries

• Books on specific disciplines or trades (such as architecture, law, engineering)

• Magazines

• Books too large to fit on our shelves!
